Mori entered a Reaper caste, either through birth or through her choice (as her family also did?) She had to compete, take classes, pass tests, etc. to show why she should be elevated above the others. It seems like anyone in the Underworld can become a Reaper if they show the right traits. They do age, they do train - possibly from a young age, and they do eventually retire.

Mori is very strong but she has a big limiter in that she can rarely actually fight. Usually it is only taking souls which are marked for death, which is not always an effort. I wonder who the strongest person she's fought is. It might be Kiara during one of the times she didn't want to go quietly.

I liked them as character intro songs (and still do) with Live Again being the one which feels like it could have been played on the radio. It's a really good song. And that was before I know anything else about her, which looking back is funny.
