It's the number of Death, a good omen. Yeah, I would dig some kind of reconstruction, if you're up for it! My main "source" if we can call it that is the Descent of Inanna which is sumerian, it's fucking metal. Excerpt just for shit and giggles:

(In case it wasn't obvious, the idea is that Ereshkigal is the goddess of the dead and queen of the Underworld, so that's where the inspiration will come.)
Also, in terms of the written language, the writing method will consist of scraping the symbols onto soapstone with a hardened finger. I was thinking that could easily use a brand of cuneiform, but I'd be interested in what you come up with.
