It's pretty telling people who say Ame doesn't like the dress are either new or just shit stirrers.

We've been with Ame over a year, we should have a pretty good idea how Ame works and for an outfit Ame more than anything cares about the context.

Is she playing or watching something detective related? She's going to use her default outfit. Is she doing a chill chat? She's going to use her casual outfit. Is she doing something fancy? She's going to use her dress. For example, it was obvious she was going to use her kimono for Arceus... a game that is based on ancient Japan.

Out of all those options "doing something fancy" is not something that happens every week.

Thats the "new outfit phase", you don't have to watch Ame to know this, you just have to watch chubbas. Once they get a new outfit they will probably wear it for at least 1 or 2 weeks straight no matter the context. This is why Ame played Halo in her dress, this time context didn't matter, "new outfit phase" took precedent over it so she wore the dress.

Sadly for the dress, a couple months later her kimono was revealed so even if the dress was still on the "phase" the new outfit too priority.

Now its been enough time for the "new outfit phase" to stop and her choice of outfit will depend 100% on context, and like i said, fancy times are not that usual.
