Interestingly enough Fonticula Sp. alba (reference picture) is the sister taxa to Nuclearia.

What this means in layman is that Fonticula, Nuclearia, and Fungi have been united into the Holomycota, meaning that this particular type of slime mold is so incredibly close to fungi that it's indistinguishable from a biology perspective. So this is likely the candidate.
