For me, vtubers occupy a space in-between. I don't watch Kronii, but when was the last time she invoked lore? I do watch Pippa, and I don't even know if she HAS lore. I am in the "vtubers are people" camp, and the avatar is a way to divorce the personality from person. Would I even have looked at Pippa IRL? I doubt it, and so I'd never get to know her. And as I enjoy her conversation, I would have missed out. As to the anime analogy, I actually like anime for similar reasons, aesthetics aside: It can convey purer emotions and ideas, divorced from IRL concerns. Yes, I too am a cute girl enjoyer at the end of the day.

Is the sole purpose of HoloID to make foreigns want to breed with indonesian girls?
