i don't think the issue is tthat people don't dare venture outside hololive, i think it's simply people don't even fucking hear about it, or if they do then they forget if they're not reminded of it. i follow suichan on two twitter accounts, and i see her promotional tweets significantly less often than her random dorky ones, let alone the retweets of the MGO account. people are not necessarily unwilling to check shit out, they're just not going to look for it on purpose unless they're huge fans.

she's promoted MGO stuff on her main streams a few times but like i said people just forget; i mean, i certainly forget about important release dates when i see a holo's stream where she promotes something, even when it's huge (for instance i could not tell you the date of towa's upcoming sololive even if i'm really interested, i'd have to look that up), which is why i'm saying she should be reminding people more often AND in a place they're most likely to see it. youtube posts for some reason have very decent reach in my experience, they even reach people who are not subscribed to someone, and twitter's all kinds of fucked right now (i would miss pretty much every info about it if i didn't have notifs on for both suichan and MGO).
