Roberu has a harem and MULTIPLE ships, which male self insert-fags and straight shippers like, but alienates homo shippers and women who like idolshit.
Astel is an FPSfag and his "outer" audience behaves like one, while his "core" audience makes trouble whenever he flirts with another female chuuba.
Even supposedly "safe" males like Izuru or Temma frequently collab with holos, because they keep trying to "lift them up".
While the male audience has a bunch of unicorn-friendly girls to choose from, what do the women have?
You know how female unicorns harass anyone that collabs with Mafumafu or BTS or sutopuri or other male idols?
The homos keep filtering that part of the audience, and then wondering why they aren't popular.
People like Vox or Ike or the other male nijis dug DEEP into the well of the female audience, which is why they found success. They kept collabs mostly with males, and kept all the female collabs as "group collabs" - which is far more acceptable to the female audience since the guy's just hanging out with friends, and flirty atmosphere doesn't really form in such situations.

There's arguably not a single male chuuba in the industry that's going all-in on idolshit. It's always half-assed or half-baked.
