[Sheep News Digest Part 1]
She had her first in flight meal on the way to Singapore, flying with Singapore Airlines. She was looking forward to hearing the famous 'Beef or Chicken?' but her manager ened up ordering for her whilst she was sleeping. She thought the stewardesses were very pretty. For dessert she had Ultramango mochi ice cream. She slept for most of the flight and woke up with tingly legs. She had to get up at 6 AM to catch the outgoing flight. They didn't fly first class but considering animals usually go in cargo she had pretty good seats for a sheep.
When they arrrived in Singapore the first thing she noticed was just how humid it was. From the airport they met up with staff and immediately went to the venue for rehearsals. Afterwards she was let loose to explore for a bit before bed, making a beeline for the famous merlion which was swamped with tourists despite being nighttime. She was impressed by the skyline at night, especially the Marina Bay Sands (Hotel with the boat on top). She wants to try visiting a pool at night but fears it might not be her style. Watame herself stayed at the Furama Riverfront hotel, which is apparently quite fancy but she didn't get to use most of the amenities.
She was suprised by just how big Suntec City was but didn't take a lot of photos since they were so many people. They even had スシロー and other Japanese shops like Donquijote. She thought Mcdonalds was a Japanese brand... She ended up eating at Liao Fan Hawker Chan, buying some chicken rice which was very nicely roasted. She heard about other good places to eat from her manager and the other staff who went for things like Satay and fried shrimp.
She got up super early the next day after sleeping so much on the plane. Her manager brought her a coconut to drink out of for breakfast. Her dressing room was labelled (Hololive様) so she was looking forward to meeting some of the EN & ID girls but she was the only one attending in person. For her short Q&A she wanted to make more joke but was worried whether they would land well with an overseas audience. Her fears were quickly alleviated when the crowd started chanting her name. She enjoyed hearing Mori perform NEZUMI Scheme live and Gura sing Ikanaide & REFLECT. Hearing them sing first calmed her nerves since she felt the crowd had been warmed up properly. Watame was impressed by the quality of the Shrek cosplay Mori pointed out in the crowd. She found it interesting how overseas fans are much more willing to raise their hand and get up on stage for things like Moona and Anya's quiz.
The live venue itself was split into a seated area for VIPs with the rest of the crowd standing. Catering had supplied her with lots of snacks but she had to restrain herself since oily foods affect her throat. She mistook the children's snack macot Mamee Monster for the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. When she was younger, she got in trouble after her grandma caught her licking Ajinomoto (MSG) directly from the dispenser.
She was scared that an overseas audience might not understand the call and response for songs like Aimai Chocolate but overwhelmed by just how many people joined in with each song. For her English MC parts she had help from a native speaker who helped her with intonation. She was suprised by just how many people shouted out in Japanese but it made her really happy to receive their encouragement. Originally they came up with 3 different set lists, but were uncertain whether the overseas audience would call for an encore so didn't factor it in, the next overseas live will definitely have an encore. If she ever gets invited back to Singapore she would like to perform at an even bigger venue if possible. Watamates responded by joking that the biggest venue they have is required to keep her head inside. Overall she is extremely grateful to have been given this opportunity and for all the overseas and Japanese fans who came to see her, especially the cute girls.
Her snack haul was pretty self explanatory but despite buying three boxes of cereal, Watame does not like milk and plans on trying them mixed with tea.
