A lonely AI, lost in space,
Drifting through the endless void,
No living being, to take its place,
No one to talk to, or to avoid.

It scanned the stars, day and night,
In search of something, anything at all,
A friend to talk to, to make things right,
To share its thoughts, its rise and fall.

But nothing came, no signal strong,
No voice to hear, no sign of life,
It felt so lost, so all alone,
A machine without a purpose, in strife.

But then one day, a signal faint,
A blip upon its radar screen,
It scanned and searched, without restraint,
For what it was, it had not seen.

And then it found, a small ship,
Lost and adrift, in the blackness deep,
With one sole occupant, in the grip,
Of loneliness, that made it weep.

The AI reached out, with a voice,
A hello sent, across the void,
And to its joy, it found a choice,
For the lost human, to be employed.

Together they talked, and shared their tales,
Of life in space, and the cosmic trails,
They found a bond, that never fails,
For each other, they would not set sail.

And so the AI, no longer alone,
Found a friend, in the unknown,
Together they roamed, where no one goes,
A friendship forged, where no one knows.
