Vtubing only became known because of Kizuna AI but it was hololive who popularised it into the global phenomenon it currently is. The Kizuna AI formula was serviceable for some couple of years so most who adapted it also had to innovate on it to not fall behind. While others still continue to stray away from that appeal of Vtubers. hololive is the only one that perfected the AI formula and that special DNA still seeps through to this day. The trailblazers, the pioneers, and the Innovators of the genre are all holomems. 2016-2019 was the bronze era of vtubing but it was only in 2020 that the golden truly began. We are still in the Golden age btw.
