It was fun at first, my first favorite non-voiced actually did end up getting voiced. I still love her, she's I used to take her plushie with me every time I'd visit Japan and got to meet a few other im@sPs because of it, but then it got worse and worse. The winners seemed to be outright rigged. Then they fucking added new characters to the game after like eight years (I love the Twins, really, but the rest can go rot especially Riamu) to appeal to a newer generation. Except half of them were voiced and the other half were rigged to have voices.

And if they didn't get voiced in the election they got voiced because of the anime, or if a manga got popular the characters got voiced because of the managaka or in Gekijou's case, the anime director. It was absurd.\

Every time there would be a unit poll from Cygames, in game, whether it was pre-determined units or even straight up made up units, Frilled Square would either take #1 or be top 3, but they refused to voice those girls. So Yuzu, the one that actually won an election, did get content, but it was ridiculously sparse. Because her character is still tied to the hip to the unvoiced girls in Frilled Square, her main unit. Shinobu had a huge backing one year, they were literally trading votes (because there were separate pools) and then this bitch out of nowhere got voiced despite her having none and that's when I knew it was all rigged bullshit.

It's a joke dude, and I really wouldn't wish it on anyone. If I could go back in time and stop myself from getting into it I probably would, but on the other hand I don't think I'd have found out about Hololive if not for it so I can't even complain too much.
