New story?

I think the topic of reader engagement is one that might be interesting to sink our teeth into. We got various degrees of engagement going on for any number of stories, and they all have likely caused some works and writers to shape into what they are today.
Reader engagement, how important is it to you as a writer?
>Do you need it to keep the lights on so to speak?
>Is it more of a luxury since we are in the business of self-indulgence?
>How much engagement is healthy before it can potentially have too much sway?
>What is the level of preferred engagement? Is it a simple 1 sentence post? Or something that branches an entire paragraph? How much detail of the stories themselves is the accepted standard to go into?
>How can someone boost their own reader engagement? Should they take actions in order to accomplish this? Or just let their stories do the work for them?
>Some readers are likely shy to engage to begin with, but does that make their silent affirmation any less valid than the vocal ones?
There's a ton of good ground to cover with this, and I'm interested to see what we make of it.

That was a pretty good batch. I'm gonna start with the shorter ones.

>A wandering pair
Really short and sweet, I really love the banter with my funny fennec. Life on the road with Polka is definitely what fantasies are made of, which I may likely be biased about. Great work with this one!
>Hospital guest
Really cute. I liked how this anon carried himself, and the interaction between him and Zeta was fun and wholesome.
>Three Golden minutes
Very cute and the message with the title drop was expertly done. I enjoy hearing about a happy family rat, and awesome reference with papa rat and the fight you had to take Bae's hand.
>Masked Princess
Short and a cool potential intro to something more. Was smooth to read, sorry I don't got much more than that.
>Stitching
Another cute one, the banter between anon and Ollie is fun. The idea she's a monster hunter getting battered up and coming to you for treatment is adorable. I'd love to read about one of the tussles she got into.
>Medieval Synthesis
First off, the interaction and bouncing back and forth flows really well and is pretty entertaining. You really nail the exasperation struggles of a teacher with trouble children. The students just interacting with the lesson in their own ways was fun to go through and how the conversation got off topic in the end was pretty natural. I didn't go in expecting to like it, but I'm glad I read it
>Shu-Ba-Oh! - Destined Rivals
This was a delightful read overall. I'm a huge fan of getting overexcited about card games, and shuuba was the perfect actress for this. The cozy spring break vibes also hit a lot of good neruons for me.
The "tutorial" of the game went pretty smooth, and could be taken out of your usual game intro episode. The chuuni chants were probably one of my favorite parts. The presentation of the cards themselves was also easy to follow.
I really like this concept and will look forward to seeing a friendship blossom and grow from card games.
>A White December: Chapter Two
Overall the first half of this one was pretty messy. Everyone is acting too soft to be drill sergeants, and I'm questioning what kind of academy this is, since as of right now it's basically a girl's boarding school you would send problem children too. The military needs an actual mission statement to be presented so the recruits know what the hell they are going to be molded into. Without even a surface level feel for the purpose of this academy or the stakes involved, it's pretty hard to get invested in what reads like a bunch of chuubas in military uniform gearing up to molest Sora at some point.
>Date Practice
GOD. This fuels my fire for funny fennec romance. It was cute, awkward, and had all the fluff I could want out of a piece like this. How Polka conducted herself throughout was pretty spot on. This was rad and an inspirational gift. Thanks anon.

Thanks for the wonderful meals to come back to bros. If I missed any stories or any authors want to get some more feedback, just say the word!

Do you have all your world's history and stuff logged somewhere? If you do, what kind of format is it?
Date X.Y. - Main event description, simple and to the point
Open ended paragraphs going into the specifics of the land's history from a high level.

threadshitter is swinging for the fences lately. It almost makes me want to imagine all that effort going into a holologs style piece that depicts how certain chuubas would go into the online hobby spaces of others and try to stir up discourse in various ways.

I got a trip to Jamaica booked this year, so maybe I'll give that a re-read for the plane ride.

I'm not super sure of her ranking of preferences yet when it comes to smut, I only caught the names of a few titles of things she's read or listened to, but she sticks to fantasy stories that tend to contain smut and the dynamic is usually a traditional one boy one girl. There was one time I looked over and caught her reading some threesome that described two dudes docking. She said she wasn't a fan of how kinda forced the threesome was, so there's that. I do know most of it is in first person, and she definitely prefers that for stories. I know Fourth wing was a popular one recently among masses, but I can't speak to its smut quality, but the concept of people being emotionally linked because of dragons is fun in the idea that, our dragons are fucking so now we want to fuck, kinda deal. Sorry I don't really know most of what she's read by name, she has a giant backlog of this stuff that she finds via social media groups dedicated to spicy books for women. It's actually kinda wild, I had no idea people were that open with smutty books.

I love this fennec too. I'm going to write about kissing her.

If you do your best and have a lot of fun with it, I'm sure you'll write something good that people will have stuff to say about it.
