I've been really enjoying it. The core gameplay, and specifically gunplay, is fantastic- enough to forgive the poor performance and relative (to vermintide 2) lack of content.

Melee is still important in Darktide, you shouldn't be using your ranged weapon 100% of the time since you'll run out of ammo and not be able to control crowds like melee sweeps can, but you can get by doing 50% ranged combat and 50% melee.

Level are plenty linear like Vermintide. There were side areas to get lost in VT2, and same in Darktide, but it's definitely not open.
