She's too nice/soft sometimes. Good DnD and TTRPG play in general has the DM and players co-write for amazing times, but it's hard to do that when you get overwritten by strong personalities... You need to put your foot down sometimes. She makes great scenarios, and in an ideal game the strong personalities are able to shine while still progressing the over-all arc. Vox was an excellent example of this in the last campaign. It doesn't have to follow the DM's narrative all the way but it's more enjoyable than constantly watching the work get derailed completely...

In a campaign I was in we ended up slaying an incarnated formerly dead God which was the DM's ultimate goal for our party, but along the way on the adventure we had a beach episode, and many other adventures that weren't on the trail. We once converted three warring barbarian tribes into one large tribe, and our allies for the final battle, which the DM didn't expect because we found a solution to their succession crisis when we decided to say "screw this job" to one of the plot hook side quests which involved choosing the successor chieftain. If we had stuck to the path there was no guarantee the other two tribes would do, one was likely to fight to the last man, and the other was likely to betray us anyway. After meeting with the three chieftains we went off on our own. We did this by investigating our way into finding out what had actually killed their high chieftain. We had noticed his tomb held the markings of someone who had his soul severed, and ended up tracing through divination and investigation, where in the astral planes it had been taken. We journeyed there, slew the lich that had intended to corrupt their homelands in the guise of their lord. His soul wasn't able to return to his body because too much time had passed, but he accompanied us in soulstone form, and incarnated temporarily to tell the tribes who was to be the successor, which all the chiefs, being his children, accepted. We also managed to reincarnate an young professor NPC who was cursed with divine aging by the BBEG's divine plague into an Ifrit who looked like Axel from Kingdom Hearts as a result, because of the tribe's combined druidic magic. The NPC, as an old man professor was a horn-dog who's female students unironically wanted to fuck him, and the professor came back to the academy after helping us on our quest to the jealousy of all the male students, and eventually got fired for sleeping with an 8th of the student body.

Yes and yes! I agree with both points Pomie. It's very common not to take one shots very seriously, especially with newer players. Vox could definitely make it given the opportunity.
