Isn't basically every donothon/subathon partially faked? Streamers will donate to themselves through sock accounts to keep the timer going and to also get more REAL donos/subs ("omg johndickdutt69420 just gifted 300 subs I better try to top that right now so streamer knows I love her!"). Thats why they have "top gifters" leaderboards to fucking manipulate you into giving more. So if they gift themselves $1000 not onyl does that dramatically increase the timer but makes your whales want to try and top that so they give you even more money.

It's also why every dono/subathon gets 90% of their donos/subs right when the timer is about to end. Sure it's also retards manipulated by seeing the timer and thinking "OMG I GOTTA DONATE RIGHT NOW OR THE TIMER RUNS OUT HERE'S 100 GIFTED SUBS QUEEN" but the streamers also 100% give themselves money to keep it from ending.

That said I never heard of management giving their talents money with these things. I assumed corpo didn't get involved in donothons/subathons. Do they also take a cut? Reminds me of when I worked in corporate restaurants and management would take a cut of the servers tipout. Nebi made over $8k (and almost all of it was from that one Scurvy dude). Was Scurvy secretly Fatcat this entire time?
