Believe it or not, the sub imploding and tuna canning them is actually the best-case death scenario for them, since that would be instantaneous and they wouldn't even have enough forewarning to be afraid of it. If they in fact haven't been crushed yet then the ocean depth they're at will be completely pitch black with freezing temperatures, not even enough room to stand, packed in with four other dudes. They also have no toilet facility at all in there since it was only supposed to be a few hours trip
