I like using wavelength for MF and HF ranges, but after like VHF the sizes become way to small to conceptualize that way. 2.4 GHz versus some stupid amount like 10 centimeters or half a foot for example.
But in fairness, I can't imagine a wave moving at terahertz like light does either. Light is fucking weird like that.
There's a nice trick in foot fetish units for the VHF and below bands that I use a lot. 299 divided by the frequency in MHz is the wavelength in feet, plus or minus some rounding error.
