You HAVE to buy to do anything in the game long term. I don't have to sell SHIT right now, which is actually one of the major issues with the game.
While broker fees for buying don't help with the current state of the meta, your suggestion makes it WORSE.

Dips are hella predictable and there's no backlash for a coin getting overbought. Even if numbers come in late, you get a LOT of cycles between poi updates and adjustment. There is no real punishment for holding when a coin dips, and you can buy more when it does. If you sell, you risk your coin being subject to overbuying and inflation, and may have trouble buying back in, or be forced to buy in for higher than you originally had position.
This isn't a "divviecoin hoard" meta, that's just a byproduct. This is a "Hold" Meta: Always Buy, Only Sell when it's REALLY profitable, and Hold Forever.
