SELF-DEGRADATION

Not to be confused with humbleness.
You put yourself down in front of friends and acquaintances, and without even knowing it, you're fishing for compliments.
People become uncomfortable around you because your life is a doom post, and you're always the punchline.
Don't you get that nobody wins in this?

07. CRINGECORE

SIN CLASSIFICATION: Self-Degradation

The official sequel to "guh," this is the anthem of loathing yourself to the point of looking like an idiot. Incidentally, the song itself includes some interesting lines that also ask the laughing listener, "why are you still here?" and I think it's a little different from "guh" in that there's a little more self-reflection and irreverence thrown in there.

Some of my favorite rhymes from the album, weirdly enough, are in here. And I'll be damned if the beat itself isn't something you shake your ass to because...you just gotta hear it. The lead synth is so twerkable- something I have no interest in at all usually but just; look, when I heard the track, I couldn't help but be like...SHEEEEESH.
You just need to hear it to understand.

It's a jokey song, and you need a couple of those on an album I think. Keeps the mood light, keeps it fresh, it's a good one. I also recorded it in Universal Music's head quarters in Tokyo, it was surreal...and so high quality too. I was like, am I really allowed to be here? And yet, I'm singing a song about believing my music isn't any good- it's ironic. And yet, I don't really think I feel that way, at least not anymore. I try to get better over time, but I still love what I do so I think I'll keep making music even if only for myself and the group of people who get enjoyment out of it. For those that want to make a big deal about not liking it, I'd recommend "CRINGECORE" to them.

...I'd recommend it to the fans too, though...
