it's fine! it might have turned heads for a young adult to bring their parent back when I first went but the age range for geek conventions is much wider now and AX has a larger focus besides just anime. if you think you'll have an easier time mentally if she comes with you then go that route. it's a bonus that you'll have a second backpack now to fill with merch that you buy

I was diagnosed with a rare illness likely around the same time as Mouse got hers, it's only been in the last decade that information for odd conditions has been discoverable online. Back then the wikipedia page for mine was three paragraphs, it's thirty six now. The CVID page has a similar difference. It's so scary to have a disease or disorder and have no one to talk to, no one to tell you what the future might look like, not even knowing if there's any research being done that could give you a clue. 'Awareness' from the outside might look like a silly goal for some people but it's so important for conditions that don't have a cure.
