>It started by mere chance, and a bit of bad luck.

>You had no idea how you pulled it off, but you ran.
>You didn't run away, you didn't seek shelter, instead you ran forward towards the pirate ship.
>There, she witnessed your bravery, but was it bravery? Were you thinking at all back then?
>Either way, she was impressed, the cannon fire ceased and she jumped down from the ship, landing in-front of you with almost inhuman acrobatics.
>With a large grin on her face, she grabbed you by your waist, holding you up with one arm she ordered another round of cannon fire as a cover.
>Surprised by her strength, able to carry a full grown man over her shoulder with just one arm, you tried to free yourself, but it was futile
>She jumped back onto her own ship and her pirate ship began to leave the port.
>It had been 3 years since then.
>You're no longer a nameless, faceless worker
>Shiori, the renowned pirate queen approaches you from behind, hand on your shoulder.
>"Alright quartermaster, get ready, see those dirty sons of novelights over there?"
>She hands you a spyglass so you can see what she's referring to.
>You notice a rather large pirate ship in the distance. You recognize the flag their ship is flying, and just as Shiori had said, it is indeed a ship belonging to the Novelight crew.
>A large playful grin appears on Shiori's face, rubbing her hands together in excitement
>"Ehehe I bet they have a lot of treasure ready for us to take!"
>You recognize that look, you've been with her for 3 years now. You worked your way to the very top despite being new.
>Those 3 years has taught you a lot of things about her, and that particular grin? That means she's confident that her crew will win.
>As the two ships begin to come within range of each other, Shiori orders immediate cannon fire upon the Novelight ship.
>One of the cannon balls was successful in hitting the enemy ship
>The Novelight ship now immobilized, more cannon fire rained down onto them.
>Countless amounts of Novelight pirates fell, their cannons rendered useless, but not before they managed to return fire on Shiori's ship.
>The damage was considered negligible, enough for Shiori's confidence to be undeterred.
>She orders her fellow crew to board the Novelight ship and kill the remaining crew. No one was to be spared.
>Shiori's ship now side by side, planks started to fall allowing for her crew to board.
>Naturally, you followed her order too, grabbing both your saber and your flintlock, you board the Novelight ship, killing any enemy pirate that you come across.
>About an hour has passed, the last of the enemy crew executed
>Shiori herself comes out of the Novelight ship's cabins, a sack of treasure over her shoulder.
>Her free hand gives you a peace sign, a happy, playful grin is plastered on her face, and then she shouts out at the top of her lungs: "VICTORY!"
>You, along with the rest of the crew, cheer out.
>It was another big win over a rather large enemy.
>That night, is no less hectic than fight from earlier.
>You organized for a large feast to celebrate the victory, her crew all gathered together on the deck, drunk and singing
>You yourself were never considered a heavy drinker, regardless you have a large jug of ale with you, leaning over the rails watching the sea and the moon
>Shiori calls out to you, you wonder just how drunk she must be from the celebration
>However, to your surprise, she isn't drunk at all.
>She stands next to you and rests her arm on your shoulder
>"You've come a long way Anon, when we first met, I thought you were a complete psychopath, running towards the ship that was raining hell on the port."
>You listen to her, reminiscing your days as another worker at the port.
>"But you know, that psychopath stirred something in me, and that's why I uhhh, for lack of better words, 'took' you that day. Do you hate me for it?"
>You look at her, in disbelief of what she had just said.
>Maybe if she asked you that months after she kidnapped you from the port, you would have said yes.
>Instead you take a rather large swig of the ale in hand and respond to her.
>"Not at all captain, I'm having the time of my life!"
>She looks at you, staring into your eyes, trying to see if you're lying to her, or to yourself.
>After a few moments, she smiles, satisfied that you're being honest with both her and yourself.
>"Good, we make a great team Anon, and someday my name, and my crew, will be known for all to fear!"
