Yes it is a metric. In fact is basically the sole metric that is used to calculate success in streaming. Even for streamers, when you have a 'top 10 most popular streamers of this month', that's based on watch hours, not anything. Or look at the image bellow. What is the first metric you see? It's watch hours. That's the most important metric, because that's literally what is used for ad revenue calculation, and that is one of the main metric sponsors look in. Getting 1000 subs from 1000 new subscribers that don't watch you after, is less valuable, that having peoples watch you for 1 million hours in a month.

Cool story sis... unfortunately, REGLOSS is quite popular, and has a pretty strong audience. They are the 4th strongest branch in all of vtubing, wiping the floor with NijiEN and other competition, outside of NijiJP, HoloJP and HoloEN - and is made out of just 5 members. You sis wish you had such failure in Niji XD
