Why doesn't Youtube count muted streams as views? What's the downside to allowing a muted tab to count as a view? Outside of botting, which youtube already has a problem with, what's the harm in letting a tab with sound muted count as a stream/ad view? It sounds beneficial to both youtube and the streamer to count views regardless of the stream volume.

What's up with some streamers just hating the idea of viewers being invested in watching them? I'm not saying you need to be a slave to your viewers, but don't you think it's courteous to let people who are taking time out of their day to watch your content know if there's a significant change of plan?
