On the contrary, from the sounds of it Suisei had already given up and decided to become an office drone or whatever when she sent that one last application to Hololive. Without vtubing, she'd probably have doubled down on her video editing and art, and I'm not sure how well that was working out anyway, she's said her video editing was mostly for pocket money. She didn't really have much confidence in her singing and had already been rejected a million times before by idol agencies. Vtuber idol seems to have been in and of itself a "last, best hope" kind of deal for her with potential fallback as a variety streamer if people didn't care about her singing.

There's a couple of sites. I think that's from Socialblade, probably from before it paywalled the audience statistics. As for their accuracy, I don't think anyone really knows since the real numbers are only known to Youtube and the streamers themselves. However, I recall that Pekora showed her statistics on stream once and based on that it seemed like those stat sites severely underestimate the 18-30 male demographic and in exchange show fringe demographics – that is, all the others – as way bigger than they are, especially the elderly portion which might be even further off due to the sheer number of people who find it funny to put their birth date as oldest possible. Nevertheless, Pekora really did have an unusual number of children watching her, just way less than was shown on those stat sites. So it's likely Suisei really does have an unusual number of both female and middle-aged fans compared to other Holos, but they're still probably outnumbered by young men. Certainly there's a bunch on Twitter.

I love this one and the Rushia one she did. Though my actual favorite of her own art was technically from before she was a vtuber so I guess it's probably against the rules.
