What this guy said >>76095802 most models track by the jaw. They'll catch the position of the mouth and then determine whether it's open or closed by if the jaw is up or down. That's why like in this ancient webm of Froot eating on stream it looks like she's chewing with her mouth open. She's not, but the jaw is moving and that's what it captures. I'm not entirely clear on VBridger but I know that Mouse uses it and that it definitely ups the tracking far beyond what VTS is capable of alone so it's probably extra good tracking that older or lower end models don't use. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1898830/VBridger/

Most tracking tends to read the jaw's position to determine whether or not the mouth is opened or closed. Chewing moves your jaw up and down so most vtuber models tend to open and close their mouth when eating. Have an ancient webm of Froot eating because it's funny.

Most facial tracking works by tracking the jaw's movements. If the jaw is moving up and down, as it does when chewing, then lots of rigged models will read that as talking and start opening and closing the mouth. Lots of modern models have added chewing toggles to get around this so that the movements actually resemble chewing and the mouth no longer opens and closes.

Picrel. Froot eating on stream and how her model tracked it. Some people started getting around it by just getting eating toggles that keeps their mouth closed and made it look like they were eating. I know Vei's last model had one.
