It's nice to see people finally realize this.
>Nijisanji didn't get popular because it was Nijisanji.
They got popular because Gen1 and Gamers had really good streamers, that were willing to push what was normal for streamers at the time.
Nijisanji instead did their best to sabotage that success.
All the dumb moves they did with NijiEN, happened with JP too:
>Debut way too many new livers with the Seeds project - splitting the audience and tanking numbers for anyone that wasn't in the top ~5
>didn't higher enough managers, so the livers had no support system
>the staff they did have became assholes, since they thought they couldn't control all the chuubas otherwise
>left the livers run amok until it was time to punish them for doing something they didn't know they couldn't do
>only got their shit together after being threatened with legal action from Nintendo

Setsuna was doing better for a while, but she's from so long ago that it was almost impossible not to do better.

She even joins Deron on stream every now and then in her new persona.

She had 20k+ median several times, but then again, she was the ceiling for the company at those times so, probably didn't get over 40k even in her biggest streams.

Yeah, she always did poorly.
Since she's among the "You're releasing too many people at once and there's not enough audience to go around" period.

Eh?
She's been under 2k for streams since 2019.

Just because she's recognizable and carries the brand doesn't mean it translates to high stream viewership.
I for one couldn't stand watching 11, 10 hour FF14 streams, followed by 7, 6 hour DbD streams in a row.

Yes/no?
It's pretty deceptive looking at the numbers when it merges so many streamers, if someone has that chart over time?

They were definitely doing well till at least March. They amped up 3D development, but after Meifu, slowed down new members, and a series of yab for some of their rising members like Gundou, Yume, Ryuushen were already afecting numbers.
They got passed by Hololive late spring for regular streams and special ones too as Coco broke all their records.

Summer looks really buffed but that's because it was very event filled. Apex going to the moon, baseball and Kagami 3D happened among others. Culminating in September 2020 being the strongest month ever for Niji numbers if I'm seeing them right.
But this is when the manjisanji meme started, as the girls were already reclining for regular streams,l. Selejo debut doing meh compared to Holo5 being the wakeup call... for fans. Who started writing to Niji JP to wake up to or they'll be passed by Holo. As usual, the JP number bros were already very late.
It became clear that yes Nijisanji had declined with the end of October numbers, with no more buffs and even losing members.

One like this but from last month.
Though, the decline is already evident in people like Maimoto and Hima.

>>22133579
Way too many factors.
Usually at this hour we make lists of 15-20 things that 'could' have caused a decline, but it's pretty much a combination of all of them, since it wasn't a sharp collapse like .Live, but a slow beed.

Nijisanji was big, but it never had as big of a dedicated audience as Holo had since mid 2020. You can see it in this chart, how people don't ALL grow.
Audience kept increasing but, A new wave appearing means other livers lost viewers.
Outside of big touristsy event months.

The higher tier of Nijisanji were in the 10k for 2019 as a reference.

I keep posting this every few days because it's still relevant.
For Himawari, she had the summer and Sept boost like all Niji fames, then fell off hard in Oct, like all niji females, but unlike most she then got sick.
Several times even and for several weeks, even more than 1 month once.
Those long breaks tanked her regular views, same as they did for Lulu and by that point Niji females were already doing poorly across the board, outside of Sanbaka and Mito.

She got hit hard by life too many times and ten by her whole company trending down.

No, max she has was almost 4k in a month.
She was just really popular on the Kaigai side with her early 2020 clips.
Her clips were really big for a niji at the time and she had the GunKanda series going.
Plus, she was friends with Matsuri and Ange so by association people around here knew of her better than most Nijis.

Try that again. Aki fell off from the beginning (and is reverse babi) but while Hajime decreased, the second Gen 2 came out, men were climbing to the top.
Not like it has anything to do with OP's statement. This is Japan afterall, where vtubers are normal to the people who watch them instead of people on this damn board going "why don't you just stream with your face hurr"

The worst part is that Wave 3 was golden.
Pretty good streamers with good strengths, but debut too soon and split the audience too much.

Same as it ever was for Nijisanji.

That was one of the many things Hololive learned from Nijisanji.
- don't spam vtubers too fast, because all that does is split up the audience and no one is happy.

I don't think we say it enough, but Sanbaka looks to be Nijisanji's strongest wave ever.

Looks like especially recently, whenever they stream consistently, Lize, Ange and Toko at least make the Nijifemale top 5.

Sure, but numbers were still pretty good for most of them till late 2020-early 2021.

It's more retroactively that people realized how big of an image shift the event was and i don't think it would have snowballed as hard if not for the other things that happened.

10 streams is not conclusive of an average. Almost everyone has an explosive CCV when they debut, then it goes to their normal numbers. Of course a tourist who hung around the numberfaggot general for a few days wouldn't know this.
>they got all the eyes on them and did nothing
What exactly did they do that's so groundbreaking? Apex? Challenge runs and art? They're both still doing these, respectively. Nothing has changed with their content.
And you're still not explaining why you're comparing the JP wave to the EN wave instead of EN waves in both companies.

Therea absolutely was, but the funny thing is, when Niji was the biggest, and quite a while afterwards, it was the Nijiniggers who exhibited stupid brand loyalty like a badge of honour. This happened both on JP and EN side, the entire reason Hololive got its separate board on Futaba was admin-encouraged raiding and harassment of Hololive threads while on /jp/ Nijiniggers shat on Kizuna AI, Holos and whoever, as well as the newfags Hololive brought in when they tried to expand their horizons to Nijis and were asking stupid newfag questions. Now – oddly enough! – they are whining about how holonewbies won't watch their chuubas and fill this board with narratives like Futaba's Hololive board being a containment board.

Much like some of the Holoniggers refusing to watch Nijis here seem to have been traumatized by their treatment at /jp/ back in the day and see their shitting on Nijis as a just retribution, there seems to be a trauma about the Nijisanji bullying culture narrative that was current in /hlg/ for a while. The thing is, that narrative was created by people watching both (I know this because a couple of anonymous posters claimed to have done so) which seems to have ticked off a schizo or two who then proceeded to post narratives all over /hlg/ because nobody cared enough to double-check them or just shitposted about it without the schizo realizing they're not serious about it, and so he could feel superior to the Holofags who were so easily misled. Of course, there are always lurkers, and I saw that bullying culture narrative spread on other sites to clueless newfags brought in by Hololive and I genuinely believe it may have hurt Nijisanji's western expansion, all because some Nijinigger thought he was being clever.

I know this is bait, but I find it really impressive how Mito has managed to maintain 10k+ average live viewers throughout her career. (Also I need an updated chart.)
