You know, I'm starting to think that streamers and especially this industry are inherently kind of evil. Just an observation. I've always found this industry unhealthy but I really think that anyone who chooses to become a VTuber is on some level committing a pretty morally reprehensible act. And this doesn't just apply to idolfags or unicorns either, all VTuber relationships are the same flavor of parasocial. At the end of the day, you have someone consciously choosing to farm fans through exploitation. It's no different than those TV evangelicals who bait call-ins and donations from hundreds of thousands of dementia-ridden old people who mistakenly believe they give a single shit about them.
