I don't even need any advanced math or terminology to explain this.
Place an exercise ball on the ground in front of you.
Hold a baseball at arms length in front of you.
Now start walking away from the exercise ball.
You'll be able to see that the baseball eventually eclipses the exercise ball despite the difference in size. This is because objects appear smaller the further they are from you. We call this phenomenon "perspective". If you have a hard time believing this, then you must also think that the parallel railroad tracks in picrel eventually meet in the distance.
