it's true, the only money to be made clipping indies is getting commissioned for your editing work, and even then, it's going to be much less than selling your talents commercially. the few /here/ clippers and editors we have are pretty good, because they actually have a passion to support talents and/or an interest in editing as a hobby. I've found very, very few corporate clippers that are actually putting out quality over quantity, because quantity gets money.

that being said Bao's take is wrong, they absolutely would not "be nothing without the vtubers that give them content" if they are actually good at editing, they'd just be taking their talents elsewhere.

fwiw I almost exclusively listen to male asmr content because it's *not* coomer content, and I actually get the asmr effect. the numbers don't lie though, this certainly isn't the majority, but it's a niche that definitely exists.
