The $300 helmet is just a brick if you don't have a Facebook account and Facebook has no problem inserting VR ads into it to ruin your experience vs the $1200 full VR kit(not just a helmet) with full range of movement and complete freedom. If you can't afford the extra $900 for the real deal VR setup you're not rich enough to be getting into experimental niche technology. Chances are you'll drop $300 on it and regret not spending that money on a new game console instead when you find out how few games VR has.

Believe me I'm not rich either, but if I was gonna drop a lot of money on VR(and $300 is a lot of money for me) I'd much rather wait a few months while saving up for the product that isn't owned by a lizardman. There's no telling what forced updates Facebook will insert into your Oculus with no prior warning that makes it useless if you don't give them your credit card info or your mother's social security number or whatever the fuck.

No, I've been online for almost 20 years but never livestreamed or posted videos or anything where my voice is available. Don't have a facebook or twitter or twitch or discord or anything either outside of using IRC sometimes. Taking opsec seriously in the 00's when doxxing was much more prevalent trained me to not make the same mistakes zoomers do.

Even if I were to become a vtuber and eventually moved my way up to Nijisanji there would be absolutely nothing linking me to any sort of real life identity except maybe my autistic posting style on 4chan, which would obviously be impossible to verify.
