As shown by history, economic progress between the Eastern and Western Hemispheres has always been like a wheel. Sometimes the West is on the upper side of the wheel and the East is down. Sometimes, it's vice versa.
During the Classical Era, the West was prosperous.
During the Dark Ages and the Medieval Ages, it was the East.
During the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution, and the early Modern Era, the West was on top again, thanks to a combination of a young population, cheap labor due to the effective doubling of the workforce because women started getting jobs, and industrial innovation.
Now East is rising on the wheel again, simply because it has the aforementioned young population, cheap labor, and industrial innovation. This post is not to gloat, but rather to talk about how things are. Simple as. Pic mostly unrelated
