You need no acoustic treatment for your room if you aren't a complete idiot who thinks that plugging a mic in is all you have to do software-wise for it to sound good.
You also don't need to limit yourself with noisegates provided by default OBS or Nvidia options when you can spend a bit of time and get yourself virtual mixer+vst plugin shell, which lets you put and fine-tune noisegate/limiter/effect/whatever the fuck plugin you want, with an added bonus of teaching you how to separate different audio channels going into your ears or your stream.
In fact you can buy a $10 mic, wrap it in a sock and make it sound as decent as anything else purely through the magic of audio editing, which you don't even need to understand because there's a guide for everything.
