Cute/Pretty anime girl avatars + interaction with audience (possibly me) = anime girls that feel "real". When I watch anime, suspension of disbelief allows me to immerse myself despite knowing the fact that it's just the seiyuu reading from a script. But in the end, they're not talking or reacting to me in any way. That's where vtubers come in.
