I miss my mother. It still feels really recent, and how long, drawn out, and painful their death was still weighs heavily on my mind. I know there's a lot I could have done differently to be a better son to her, especially in her waning days, but at the time it was all I could do to help her and stay sane- while I watched the strongest person I ever knew, the only person who ever showed me unconditional love, creep towards her own death while I sat helpless.
