Still thinking about the flag for the world building thread. Here’s a preliminary design presented in glorious black and white to preserve what little clarity it has left after being drawn hastily on a touchscreen phone crouched behind a desk while I’m at work.

The two main design elements are the stripes on the top and bottom, angled so that they widen as the flag continues, representing both the concept of “widening” in general, and our growing corruptive influence. The other element is the “three islands” symbol in the middle, both representing our island nation and a stylized depiction of a woman’s gut seen from above.

I’ll probably choose tropical colors for the island and the field behind it, but I think the stripes will remain black as our darker off-color, showing our intentions aren’t quite so pure.

I know it looks like shit now, but as soon as I get home to a more powerful program than my notes app, it should be a little clearer what I’m going for.
