Well... yes but not entirely.
It'd be like picking up halo 3 as your first halo everything is explained and you would be able to appreciate everything happening But you would lack a lot of context that would make everything you do more emotionally impactfull.
However I'd say ruina does an even better job of explaining what happened before hand, and Lobcorp is such a intense test of human willpower and mental capacity that I cannot always readily recommend it, but maybe vestie is strong enough for it... but at the same time I'm afraid it'll sour him on pm games and I'll never see him play the game I personally like more...
