It depends, honestly. It's funny because some 3D streamers end up getting 2D models done and vice versa. Mel has an amazing 3D model but still went through the effort to make a great 2D one too.
In general though, the 3D stuff in holo is mostly just to help with the whole idol thing. A lot of people really like that aspect, even though it does nothing for me. However, having good 3D tracking can also help with other kinds of content that uses your body or hands. Filian's a great example (picrel)
