Ok listen up: absolutely do not do this. If anything, it is extremely inconvenient to others. When people who are in contact in you want to reach you while you are cocooning typically they have to go out of their way to find out why are you not responding, which usually involves them wasting a lot of hours of their day trying to find out if you haven't been kidnapped or something.

"Flight" is a natural response to fear. There is another one however: "Fight"
You have to train your brain to switch from flighting to fighting, you can do this by focusing really hard on interpreting the experience as a winnable combat instead of an undefeatable threat.
Don't like this? There are other hundreds of ways with dealing with stress. Look on them and find one you like.

Basically in the vod it says that people who believe stress is harmful to them are the ones that get fucked up. In cultures where they dont believe stress is bad do better under stress in health terms than people with little stress.
