My idea’s that it’s natural for people to be intimidated by something huge (I think it’s called monumentality) and this might be especially true for Belyms because of their smaller size, perhaps their engineering giving them a more prey-like mentality or even that trait being a deliberate product by their creators to make them more susceptibility to the grand design they envisioned. This is likely also why MC fixate on the maw and claustrophobia more since they play into Belyms’ prey-like primal fear. Another idea that I’ve been playing around is that Belyms also have a more pronounced group mentality due to their small frame, potential fragility and them not staying at the top of the food chain for the majority of their existence. These two factors are why MC feels more at ease once he’s not directly looking at the mecha’s big exterior and the maw-like cockpit door, and have someone/something present to accompany him. I guess while it might not be a dominant trait for everyone but many Belyms probably feel (even) less at ease when in solitary than average humans. That might be another reason why they adopt the AI companion dynamics very quickly despite all the flaws

Truth be told I use thesaurus a lot when writing since I’m aware of my poor lexicon and fixation on random words. It doesn’t work as often as I have hoped since sensation’s one of those words without a lot of synonyms. I’ll try to change things around in the future to control that tendency. Maybe some sites can help me spot repeating words…
I enjoy writing the launch sequence too! It’s part of the result of me doing my reps on what the ichorite should do (higher G tolerance and thus allowing a faster launch acceleration) and to show the kind of things people have to endure in that line of work. I also went to a theme park a while ago and the roller coaster ride was fun
I have fun writing the second part too! I try to capture a dream-like feeling as MC’s mind slowly melts into the mindscape that the AI make to integrate his mind with the mecha, and the “slowly waking up in forms you’re comfortable with” probably can help ease the process and not overload his mind just like what the AI intend to do. It’s also a nice place for me to write short scenes that I don’t know where else to put, like MC’s memory of swimming to avoid a solar flare it can also be seen as the AI probing MC’s mind to know more about him

I’m glad you enjoy my writing despite its flaws! I’ve fixed some of them in the writing. I’ll try to keep an eye on these issues in my future writing as well
