Glass is actually very safe for 2 reasons. First being the glass is tempered, you try breaking tempered glass without a hammer. I don't care how powerful your pelvic muscles are, they can't break tempered glass.
The other being that because glass is non-porous, bacteria can only stick to the surface and can't get inside, making it very easy to keep clean.
