Do notice that this also serves as world building, and contextualizes character designs. I'm sure you've seen western people complaining that Tifa doesn't have enough "meat to her bones" or whatever considering how extremely superhuman powerful she is, right? Well, it's right here, the difference in strength between Tifa and Cloud is far higher than between Tifa and a florist. She is not, in fact, superhuman. She is not supposed to be physically stronger than the people who look physically stronger. She just has the "punchy" role, because it's fun.
And her gameplay is a BLAST in this game, the punchy role is amazing.
