It's not, but that was just the reality back in the 2018-19 years of VTtubing (and Youtubing in general).
Companies popped up and died like fireworks in those days, even big IPs like Kizuna Ai - who everyone expected to be a staple of the JP sphere - experienced recline due to some controversy or the other.
Hell, Cover itself was in danger of going under due to all the shit they had to put up with, the Holocaust --> Aloe --> China arc was a triple whammy which would have crippled them forever if not for Myth getting popular in the west and them holding on enough to get their successful Curry Meshi sponsorship, opening them up for more mainstream sponsors.

It takes a while to come back from that fight-or-flight environment into one of stability. It's a slow process. And any shakeup in the status quo, - like Coco leaving or Rushia getting terminated - can just cause them to revert back into that survivalist mindset, because there's always the thought of "what if that was me" in the back of their head.
Some of them may never escape it completely, they'll have to learn to live with it.

The Miko from back then is nothing like the Miko now. She worked her ass off and changed streaming styles many times before settling into a mix of what was comfortable for her + what her viewers liked.

Would anyone from the extremely individualistic and proud EN sphere be willing to change something about themselves just to please their audience? While a vocal minority of people who never donate or buy merch keeps telling them to never change?
