And general awkwardness. After a while, it was as if Pomu, Pikamee and Nyanners in particular went into hiding. It was painfully obvious that many didn't want to be there and those who enjoyed this stage aggressively pushed them.
It was physically painful to watch.

Wasn't this before she even had her debut as Mint? Even Mint was just some 3view. A pretty good one, but still. She was inexperienced and small. Now she's one of the biggest EN Vtubers with a large fanbase that loves her as much as she loves it, tons of experience as a streamer and in working for a JP corpo and she has lots of industry connections.

I work in some toxic office environment as well and dread driving there every morning, I ride my bike and hope that someone just hits me at every crossing, but I know I can't just quit since I need to pay my rent somehow and I can't just cause a fuss because they would ruin my CV even more than they already do. Pomu did office politics, she is well-connected and obviously had an exit strategy for a long time. If Elira was truly in charge, then she directly delayed her 3D for a long time, cancelled her Metal Gear gig and made her cry again and again, sometimes even on stream.
Yeah, totally sounds like a good friend right there.
I unironically assume that Pomu had no other choice if she didn't want to spoil her exit strategy that may secure her a new corpo job eventually in the future.
