honestly anon, open source tts has only had a recent "breakthrough" (coqui XTTSv2) since fuckin turtoise and that 15.ai site the dev left in purgatory. and even with this breakthrough, it's nothing really significant that would help your immersion for chatbots. Even corpo products like elevenlabs isn't at the "holy shit" stage, at least when it comes to implementation with chatbots, AI voice is still a largely generative resource and if i were to compare it to anything it's like how AI art requires inpainting to look good. Some less than others, but editing for a polished final product nonetheless. The only open source options with an actual community behind it is RVC but they focus on AI covers rather than text to speech. TTS is just largely not there yet.
