In case you are just on the slower side instead of actively malicious, let me explain: the reason why priestess has a large loss on investments is because he has to spend roughly 1.5 million per cycle in order to convert liquid into coins, which, you know, give dividends. There are never enough coins that are under their average value to actually spend this much. Cypher faces the same problem, except that Cypher has to spend much less - roughly 800m vs. 1400m just this week. Why is this done? Well, coins appreciate in value and give dividends, and due to this precise reason cypher won't take the lead back after it's taken. He's been riding on the exponential returns from his earlier lead for months now.
Mind you, it's not that he's a bad player, his strategy is sound. This is just the reality of the market, which you'd know about if you had read the damned report, thought about the state of the market, or had enough money to notice that problem on your own.
