grooming often involves gaslighting and blackmail, isolating from peers and all sort of mental abuse tactics - oilers are often called groomers because giving expensive presents as a form of making the person feel guilty is 101 grooming.
In general it also involves the target being naive and/ or a minor, which is also common with vtubers who are basically mental and socially stunt hikis with self steem issues and craving attention.

Sexpests are not groomers, in fact, they are the opposite: they go full frontal with their intentions, meanwhile deceit is the key of a groomer, who is planning to slowly gain access to inner circles and remove the rest. May also use position of power like being a "sempai" or offering clout/ assets.

A friend is just a guy who drops by with no intentions of dating or second hand tactics. Women might offer themselves to them eventually but thats on them he just wants to chill.
