Depends on what you want out of a Zoo game. If you just want to pick it up and play then you're better off downloading Zoo Tycoon, it's a much simpler game with a more satisfying sense of progression. If you want the ultimate model train(zoo) builder and don't mind the huge investment of time that Planet Zoo asks for then go for it. The actual "game" Planet Zoo offers is dragged down by the management, but there really is no limit to what you can make.

I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised Ame has taken to Planet Zoo. I was worried it would be too impenetrable as a simulation game, I know I've watched plenty of people get filtered by the tutorial and menus early on. You think she'd be interested in other simulation games?

Uh oh....

As much as I like Ame, and Planet Zoo, I don't think she's going to like it all that much. It's a cute game yes, but as someone that's been into tycoon games for a long time, Planet Zoo is probably the most obtuse and non user-friendly game in the genre. I think she would love the original Zoo Tycoon, but that's not as new and flashy, but it's a way better game. The tutorial also drags and is pretty much essential to knowing how to play the game, if she tries to skip it she will be lost in the horrible menu UI.
