>streaming a game is fair use
No it's not, not in the United States nor anywhere else in the world. See this:
https://www.copyright.gov/fair-use/more-info.html

Here are the four things that need to be taken in consideration to quality for fair use
>Purpose and character of the use, including whether the use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes:
>Nature of the copyrighted work
>Amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole:
>Effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work

Here is the difference
>Streaming a portion of a Doom in an online class to demonstrate the mathematical techniques used to simulate a 3D in a 2D projection
FAIR USE
>Playing Doom in front of an monetized audience for entertainment purpose
NOT FAIR USE

>Showing snippets of a playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 to review the game and add commentary
FAIR USE
>Playing Cyberpunk 2077 in front of an monetized audience for entertainment purpose
NOT FAIR USE

It is not even hard to figure this out. I don't know why people think "fair use" means "I'm a good boy, please don't sue".

>Not to mention the proven sale boosts, when a streamer recommends the game.
Just get permission and do it, they'll appreciate. Just don't do it without getting it
