>Also I've heard that dead subs are actually bad for you from a Youtube algorithm perspective but I've no idea if that's actually true.
It's not. Everything official released by Youtube team stresses one thing
>all their algorithms are driven by engagement numbers with everything else (SEO, tags, title, subscription numbers) playing second fiddle.

They say
>if people click your video and watch it it gets recommended to other people that usually engage with the same type of videos

The only rrat that happens to be true is that even a "dislike" helps a streamer because it proves engagement (the person had to click the video to leave the dislike).
I could be their algo is 90%
>those who watched X also watched Y, so if someone watches X they'll get recommended Y

That's why you can't escape KSon recommendations these days on Youtube, for instance, or couldn't escape that cute weather girl in the start of the year
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSe5exLXrz4

This video got so viral it turned her into "Hololive 2020, except 2021 and real life", and for the same audience too.
Here is a small poll
>give me a (you) if you got this girl recommended to you

I know I am not the only one, all the youtube attentionwhores that dwell the clippers comments were all over Saya videos too
