To be fair at their peak Luxiem did pull crazy numbers, and they were competing with HoloEN. Despite the crazy numbers they only won one month during their peak (I think I could be wrong).
Kind of like how despite Salome's crazy debut period Hololive still managed to beat them on the tally, see pick related.
It was mostly because of their popularity in China. The argument was that the weird graphs were caused by china viewers using vpns. Most anons don't really believe that and are very suspicious of China related numbers. Most think it was more likely bots or view farms, but if you want to be neutral, we don't really know for sure.

Their peak didn't last too long before they started reclining pretty consistantly.
After that even during HoloENs worst periods their CCV per stream was higher than NijiEN, who were mostly relying on gimmick/event streams to compete with normal HoloEN streams. Until those weren't enough anymore
